Default Mission: Vizunah Square

Is this mission required to be done in order to leave the cantha area to get to the luxons?

If not please post what needs to be done.

The Viz mission totally sucks and I don't think it is doable with henchmen. The AI for the henchmen is just too stupid and they are too weak, they die too easy.

After having sat around for near an hour looking for some monks we were forced to try with the henchmen. The opposing team consisted of all henchmen too and by the time we got to Togo for the first cutscene 2/3 the first group was dead and not rezzed at all. We of course failed the mission.

It is also VERY STUPID that you can not rez anyone who has died on the other team that is working with you to win this stupid mission.

/SIGH

Its not possible to do with henches.

My friend has been locked at the mission for over 3 hours today with henches. Mainly because the healer hench has sig of devotion with no divine favor. Gj Anet.

Soo do you have to do this mission to get to the luxon's area?

No idea.

Anet needs to give a clear explaination and a game online game manual that is up to date. Instead they release a strat guide we have to buy that will be obsolete within 2 weeks.

I think this is the only complaint about the support from Anet. They really do not explain the mechanics of the game very well.

The mission is definately henchable. You have to complete it in order to access other areas of the map that are closed off prior to completion.

There are also areas that require a player to actually do the quest and ask to be admitted to the next outpost.

The Vizunah mission is alright until the very last battle. The hordes of Afflicteds just keep coming and coming dozens at a time, making it impossible for the hench healer to keep up. And naturally Togo and Mhenlo behave like standard NPC's you have to keep alive rushing all over the place.

Just finished it. Both me and the other guy had 7 henchies with us and only had 1 or 2 deaths the entire time. Were were slow of course and only got the first reward... but it was doable.

I was able to get to the second to last group with henchies before I got a group later today to beat it. Now I'm outside the city... Arborstone is my current mission. :]

Only after Square? Really? Hmm... I've done it (came out to be easy as piss with human players actually ) and still can't get to the areas outta Kaineng. I assume you've done other missions too then

Tip: wells: ROCK, rangers: ROCK!

did it with 3 barrage rangers, 1 ss/MoP nec, 1 wells nec, 1 tank, 2 monks, and I was the only barrager with a pet, 'cause I love my lvl 20 moa.

and we rolled the mission in ~25 minues, got both crosses on the icon + standard and the 'elite' or whatever [aka: new bonus] completed because of how fast we did it. COOL BEANS.

Wells + balling + barrage = a whole big explosion of you winning.

Yup, henchable. It kinda helps when you realise it's a 2-team map (2x8 players), and you have to work with the other team to win. Sometimes you won't have another team with you (cancelled during the countdown most likely), in that case, map back and try again.

I managed to hench this with another guy (who also henched).

While it's henchable (preferably, you'll take real monks with you), this mission is a great example of one of the things I'm not liking about Factions so far. Rather than show some true creativity, Anet has taken to the path of throwing wave upon wave of Afflicted, materializing out of nowhere, against us. It's not like the Afflicted are challenging in any way. It's simple battle grind, nothing more.

When talking to some of my guildmates about helping out in this mission, one replied 'I'd love to, but I just got a call from my doctor and he'd like to remove my liver.' Another one replied, 'Yeah, as soon as I finish pulling my fingernails off.'

'Nuff said....

A battle grind has been every part of PvE so far practically... large battles are somewhat more fun though

Lost a completion to the mhenlo-doesnt-move bug, mission was pretty fun (with 8 people). With 2 teams I'd expect it's somewhat less interesting.

Actually, when Chapter 1 came out, we didn't have A.net holding our hands through the missions either. That's part of the joy of a totally new chapter: discovering new things. In some ways, wanting all the spoilers is almost like wanting to be ran through the missions.

OTOH, Sig of Devotion + no DF will need to be fixed.

So far, these missions go pretty well with a minion army.

What is your primary class?

As a warrior taking the henchmen over and over, they don't survive.

Mesmer - Clumsiness, Ineptitude, Images of Remorse, Power Return, Inspired Hex, Drain Enchantment, Mend Ailment, Resurrect

As a Warrior I'm not too sure, maybe bring Watch Yourself and Shields Up to buff the henchies? Condition removal is nice to have, along with spike damage and an interrupt.

Anyways, make sure the other team has at least one active player, the mission is very difficult with only one team. If, by the time you make it down to Togo everybody there is dead, just restart and hope for a second team.

How can you tell if there's a second team somewhere? Do you meet them at the point where Mhenlo and Togo meet (after first big battle) and have their little chat? Or do you not meet them until the very end, at the final big battle?

Apparently the second team spawns by Togo. Ideally they should all be alive by the time you get down there, if you see half a dozen "Corpse of such-and-such," that's your cue to map back and restart the mission. Or, you can just talk in Local Chat to check if there's somebody present.
